NEW DELHI: The Division of Empowerment of Individuals with Disabilities (DEPwD) underneath the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Electronics Sector Abilities Council of India (ESSCI) to offer job alternatives for Individuals with Disabilities (PwDs).
The MoU signed on March 8, will present PwDs with the mandatory expertise that may assist them safe a job throughout the electronics sector, the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment mentioned in an announcement on Saturday.
Collectively, DEPwD and ESSCI will present vocational coaching to the PwDs that’s aligned with trade calls for and supply placements.
“The initiative goals to create pathways for sustainable livelihoods and foster a globally aggressive workforce,” the ministry mentioned.
Along with vocational coaching, “the ESSCI may also facilitate engagement with potential employers and industrial networks to make sure seamless placement alternatives for trainees. Importantly, placements will assure a month-to-month wage compliant with the Minimal Wages Act and trade benchmarks.”
Additional, the ESSCI may also present post-placement companies with counselling and monitoring for no less than three months.
“This collaboration marks a major stride in the direction of inclusivity and financial empowerment, reaffirming the dedication of DEPwD and ESSCI to create an enabling atmosphere for PwDs to thrive within the electronics sector,” the ministry mentioned.
